Welcome to the first of what I hope will be many Holiday Shopping Days with sexy, delightful and fun romance authors. Here are some new books out for the holiday season.
Maggie Mundy’s newest paranormal romance, Scarred Protector, is the second book in a trilogy called The Midworlder Trilogy.
Angels and demons are not what you think. They are aliens, and the Midworlders are their representatives on Earth. An Angelic Midworlder called Heath goes to the aid of Evie who is about to be attacked by Demonics. He soon discovers she can see the angels and demons around her and is in grave danger. He is captivated by Evie who has physical and mental scars like him. They are tortured souls who are deeply connected by his past. There is an evil lurking inside Evie that could kill them both.
I asked Maggie why she wrote and she sent me back this interesting experience at a writers’ conference.
Maggie: I was at a conference recently when a wonderful speaker called Patricia McQuinn asked us to write down three reasons why we write and mine were.
1. Acceptance by peers.
2. Make lots of money and be famous.
3. I want people to love the stories I write.
As the session progressed we had to get rid of two that we could live without. I ended up with number three. Most people there had the same experience. So the next time you feel sad from a rejection, or a review, or poor sales, remind yourself why you are doing this.

BLURB: How well do you really know the one you love? The One proves that no one is quite who they seem. After a whirlwind courtship and marriage, Adelia’s “happily ever after” begins to fall apart when she learns that her husband has become the lead suspect in her parents’ murder investigation. So begins my saga of the star-crossed love affair between Adelia and Miles and the lies and betrayal that threaten to destroy them.
“Do you believe in love at first sight?”
“I..I don’t know. I suppose it’s possible, but…” Her eyelashes fluttered in confusion.
“I know you might think I’m crazy, but I’m a man who knows what he wants. I’ve fallen in love with you, Adelia. I want to marry you. You’re the one I’ve been waiting for. I can’t really explain it, but I know that we belong together.” His face was unreadable. It was as if he threw a line out to fish, he waited to see if she would take the bait. With his arms around her, he waited for her response.
She was speechless and felt the ground give way beneath her feet. “Miles, I don’t know what to say. You’re a bit high and might just be taken with the moment and last night. We barely know each other. Why don’t we think on it tonight, and you can ask me again tomorrow? Don’t worry if you change your mind or regret your hasty proposal. I won’t hold it against you.” She kissed him sweetly before breaking away from his embrace and getting into the limo.
Before the car sped away, Miles reached in to kiss her hand. His eyes were completely sober. “I told you when we met that I’m impulsive and that it has usually served me well. I knew the minute I saw you, Adelia, that you were the woman I wanted, the one. Tomorrow, the next day, or the day after that—nothing will change my mind!”
Belle: “I love when characters have their own agenda, their own good or evil intentions that cause mayhem. That’s what keeps a series alive, and that’s what keeps me writing.”

L.D. Rose write dark paranormal romance and is here with Releasing The Demons.
Five years after Blaze was maimed by Cyrus Chimola, a powerful vampire with a penchant for torture, he’s still trying to pick up the pieces of his shattered life. As a genetically engineered mercenary with the ability to bend fire to his will and to see in infrared, Blaze’s mission is to protect what’s left of humanity. When Chimola and his crew return to the Bronx gunning for Blaze’s blood, Blaze is forced to face the demons of his past. Hell-bent on revenge, he seeks the help of Valerie Medeiros, an NYPD detective who manages to steal his heart and save his life in more ways than one.
Motivated by her sister’s gruesome death, Valerie has made it her life’s goal to bury every vampire in the ground where they belong. When she brings in Blaze Knight for suspected murder, she discovers he’s not only innocent, he isn’t a man at all—he’s a half-vampire hybrid working with a band of brothers for the U.S. military. Valerie has a hard time trusting anything with fangs, yet she quickly falls headlong into Blaze’s life, a life full of darkness and horror she can’t even begin to fathom. The bodies are stacking up, but Valerie can’t seem to let go of this hybrid, a beautiful monster filled with pain, rage, and passion unlike anything she’s ever known.
In a world where the line between good and evil is blurred, Blaze and Valerie will find danger at every turn, risking everything they’ve come to know and love, including one another.
L.D. Rose is a neurotic physician by day, crazed writer by night, and all around wannabe superhero. She currently lives in Rhode Island with her studly hubby, her hyperactive boxer, and her two devious cats.

A paragraph about me:
I lead a dramatic double life chock full of chaos and mayhem! Ha ha, just kidding. 😉 I’m currently a resident physician at a big academic center in New England. This may sound crazy, but I didn’t start taking writing seriously until I went to medical school. I wrote my debut novel, Releasing The Demons, in its entirety while studying to be a doctor. Many of the traumas the hero in RtD goes through were inspired by my one-month stint rotating through a locked psych ward at a major New York hospital. Don’t get me wrong, I love being an MD, but I’ve been a writer my entire life and I always wanted to see my work published some day. Working in the medical field and watching people become sick (and sometimes die) on a near daily basis made me realize if I wanted to achieve my goal of publishing a novel, I shouldn’t wait. I should go for it, no matter how busy or crazy life is, because who knows what could happen tomorrow? Many patients I took care of voiced so many regrets while they lay on their deathbed and it really got to me. Don’t put off your dreams or one day you may not have a chance to achieve them.
Thank you to all our authors today. Don’t their books sound fun! I’m already clicking away on my Kindle.
