In my humble opinion, there is nothing more exciting to authors than the moment we first see our cover art. Since I am not only a writer but an artist, seeing each new cover is the ultimate creative experience. The verbal and visual meld of my brainchild.
I am, however, not the artist for my own covers. This person is selected by my publisher. Somehow, it’s even cooler to see how somebody else took my book concept and represented it in a visual format.
The cover artist for my new book, LAWFULLY YOURS, is the same artist who designed DESIRE IN THE EVERGLADES (see that cover art below). Her name is Leah Kaye. And again, in my humble opinion, she is very good at what she does. No wonder Soul Mate Publishing, Inc. continues to select her work.
Let me know what you think about my new cover, and your thoughts about cover art in general.
LAWFULLY YOURS will be released on Amazon by Soul Mate Publishing, Inc. on March 11, 2015. If you’re curious what it’s about, check out the book blurb that follows below.
And for those of you who are in, or near, Connecticut, please some to the book signing for my debut novel, DESIRE IN THE EVERGLADES. There will be fabulous appetizers, wine, and me—reading the pages of DESIRE while tying not to blush. (This event is free to attend.) Here’s the information:
Saturday, March 14, 2015 6:30—8:00 at Chameleon Haircolor Cafe & Spa, 323 Washington Ave., North Haven CT (p)203-234-7900.
Book Blurb for LAWFULLY YOURS
The prestigious Connecticut law firm of Grovas & Cleval has always been rife with office drama and crazy clients. But an office affair between a young associate and a powerful partner—her boss—might be the biggest scandal of all.
Quirky, quiet Sue Linkovitch is Jordan Grant’s newest hire. Barely out of law school and hired on a fluke, she has no idea what she’s gotten herself into. Unfortunately, Jordan isn’t sympathetic to her professional “growing pains.” In fact, he’s downright frosty. The only time he thaws is when he’s around his five-year old daughter. So why is she so attracted to him?
Jordan Grant sees Sue as bright, bookish and a terrible temptation. Yet he knows not to get involved with a woman again—he learned this from his divorce. And if that hard knock lesson wasn’t enough, he’s been falsely accused of sexual harassment in the past. If their colleagues even think he’s interested, it will be the death of his career—and hers.
