What I’m reading. Vicki Bateman’s Store Wars, what a great read and Casey Wyatt’s The Undead Space Initiative—this story is wonderful and unique, with some of the greatest lines I’ve read in a book lately. What are you reading, share below?
This week was hectic and wonderful. Hectic because the marketing involved in the release of a book is time consuming and exhausting. I’m not complaining though! I’m bragging. That’s right. Let me shout it from the rafters. If I Fail, A Jake Carrington Mystery released last Friday. Wow, a whole week has gone by already. Doesn’t seem possible but it is.
When do I write? The downside is, I’ve had no time to write and I’m in writing withdrawal. You see I’m two-thirds through the third book in the series, Mated for Life, A Jake Carrington Mystery. And I so want Jake to capture the killer. This one is particularly mean. He’s killing brides-to be and stealing not only their promised futures but other generations they might have produced in their unions.
In the fourth book in the series, A Demented Mine, A Jake Carrington Mystery. Jake meets up once again with his sister’s killer when he escapes from jail. I hope Jake can control his emotions and temper. Will he do what’s right when he confronts the killer, or will he lose control and end his life? Will his partner Sergeant Romanelli let him? As they used to say in the old movies, stay tuned to find out.
As you can see, Jake won’t leave me alone. His stories wake me up in the middle of the night and I have to put it all down on paper, even it is just a short note. It’s a good thing I like him or…
I better watch what I say here. There are a lot of readers out there contacting me. Telling me how much they like Jake. It might not be in my best interest to create too much trouble for him. Evil grin! Did you think I’d make his life easier? No can do.
In January 2013 Jake’ story continues in the second book of the series. Burn in Hell, A Jake Carrington Mystery. Jake moves on but never lets go. He takes on another department while running the homicide department and fighting the in-house politics. Can the woman he’s now dating be connected to several missing person cases? Can he and Mia resolve their difference?
Thank you all who have enjoyed Jake’s first story and participated in its release. I look forward to hearing from you.
